Set in violent prohibition era Chicago, this powerful crime drama chronicles the campaign of incorruptible Eliot Ness (Robert Stack), a young Special U.S. Treasury Agent, and his elite six-man team to smash bootlegging and other gangland related activities. Airing from 1959-63, the series was panned for what critics at the time determined to be excessive violence, but was nonetheless tremendously popular with audiences. The Untouchables certainly stands among the best anti-crime shows television has ever produced.
