Gas-lit Victorian London is the setting for this adventure that introduced the dastardly Moriarty, George Zucco, whose fiendish plan is to steal the crown jewels from the Tower of London. In order to distract Holmes from his true purpose, Moriarty sets up a series of murders and sends Holmes a new client in the form of the lovely Miss Brandon, Ida Lupino.
